Three bedroom, two bathroom townhouse-style duplex in the River Road* area.  This is not just any ordinary rental – first of all, there is a solar power array that generates power every day.  EWEB buys the power (at the same rate that they charge for power) and the cost off-sets the total EWEB electric/water/sewer bill. The summer EWEB bill for city water/sewer/electric, seldom is more than $100 (obviously this is based on usage and weather so your results will vary). I would estimate that the average savings over 12-months of solar usage to be about $75/month.

Next, there is a great yard!  It isn’t huge, but it is divided into two areas.  The first is the garden boxes, pond with solar waterfall and four koi fish, and chicken coop.  The second area is the back yard and patio.  If you have pets, this is a great way to keep them out of the garden area (or pond, or from harassing the chickens). The front yard is as simple as can be and there is an over-sized gate to the back yard to make it easier to store/move things behind the fence.  There is one shed (suitable to store weather resistant items).

This home allows you to lesson your carbon footprint by growing your own food (we also have a cherry tree & strawberries), the solar electrical system, and by keeping chickens for the eggs.  The neighborhood is also flat and very bikeable/walkable.

Inside the house, you have an open room style kitchen, living, room and dining area, with the first full bath off to the side.  The flooring is a high-end, durable vinyl product.  The appliances are stainless and quite new.  A single car garage separates the two units so sound transfer is minimal. The washer and dryer hook ups are in the garage.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a second full bath.  The main bedroom and hallway have a door into the main bathroom.  The toilet/shower room is separate from the sink room.  The vanity is gorgeous and there are double sinks.

All the lighting through the home has been upgraded and is energy efficient.  There are double pained vinyl windows.  Heating is electric (cadet) and there is a room air conditioner installed upstairs, which has always been sufficient for keeping the home cool, even in the hottest weather.  The living room and each bedroom have ceiling fans.  The upstairs floors are also solid-surface so they’re easy to keep looking clean!

The home is situated in a cul-da-sac and a city park is just two blocks away.  We added additional off street parking so each side of the duplex has two off-street exterior spaces and the garage for parking.  On street parking is free and generally available.

This home has been owner-occupied so it is not the typical rental.  Notice that the beautiful door trim has hand-painted little green leaves!  The property owner lived there for 15 years and it has been a great home and area.
